Inspired by David Byrne and Brian Eno’s 1981 album My Life in the Bush of GhostsLive from a Bush of Ghosts follows a woman with an all too common job in the developing world: melting down computer parts to retrieve precious metals for mere pennies a day. As she works, the ghosts of the machines’ former users appear from the thick, toxic smoke. A young boy lured by an online predator, a suicidal stockbroker and a heavy metal televangelist each haunt the woman with their tragic tales, in this ultra-modern example of mixed media theatre that examines the fallout of digital culture.
